Black Excellence: A Celebration of Greatness is a poem that brings to light the majestic history and accomplishments of African and aboriginal people of the world. The book displays a powerful message that reminds Black children all around the world of who they are, where they come from, and what they can become. From ancient times until now, Black Excellence celebrates the great heritage of black culture while promoting pride in children throughout the entire African diaspora.
Book Inspiration
Like my first projects, this book was inspired by my children. I want them to know who they are and the greatness that they come from. I want them to read captivating and intriguing stories with characters that look like them. I want them to know their representation and who they are, matters. I want my children, as well as all children everywhere, to love themselves, understand their heritage, and be proud of who they are.
Hopes for the Future
I will continue writing books because I want all Black children all over the world to have the similar experiences that I did growing up reading. I want them to know the truth about themselves for themselves; and for them to know that they belong and that they matter in this world! So, be on the lookout for more books to come, because I’m not done by a long shot!
